Editorial Board Members

Emily Roesch, Editor-in-Chief –Emily is a second-semester graduate PR student from  Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She attended BU as an undergrad, with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Sociology. Now, Emily is a senior captain of BU’s Division I softball team and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council. She hopes to start a career in alumni relations, sports management or community affairs. -Who would you love to spend the day with? "I would love to kick it with Benjamin Franklin. I hear he was quite the lady’s man and could make a  mean rum punch.”

Alina Rubezhova, Director of Social Media—Alina is a first-year graduate student studying public relations. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa in both Journalism and Mass Communication and Communication Studies. Alina's interests include social media, agency work, event planning and traveling. -If you had a super power, what would it be? “Wishing myself places. I love traveling and exploring new places—but flights can get pretty expensive. If I could just close my eyes and wake up in Paris or Australia my life would be complete. Marlee Caine, Expeditor—Marlee  is a junior in COM studying Advertising with a minor in Spanish. She hopes to study abroad in Argentina next summer and put her language skills to the test. Her dream job would be designing movie sets or being a location scout, but she’ll settle for an Account Executive job in New York City. -What is your favorite place in the world? “You can find me at anytime of the day at UBurger and Target.”

Sean Griffin—Sean is a senior Advertising student from Buffalo, NY. In his free time he enjoys Rock Climbing and watching an absurd amount of television. Country Music enthusiast and Howard Thurman Center Ambassador. -What's your dream job? "Changes everyday. Trying to change the world with some words and a dream. ‘I sometimes wonder if we couldn’t just fix everything if people smiled more.’” Elena Wenqi Xu—Elena is first year graduate student in public relations from China. She joined The COMmunicator to further learn about the life at COM and report it. She sees herself as a storyteller, paying attention to tiny but interesting details to develop the story. She loves travelling but misses spending time with  her parents in China. -If you had any superpower it would be...: “It would definitively be to fly!” Jiyoung Won—Jiyoung is a junior in COM studying public relations. In the past, she has worked as the PR Chair for BU Global Awareness Project, and interned at MCCI Corporation. Jiyoung enjoys playing violin and teaching music to children. She aspires to be an event planner one day. -What is your favorite reality TV show? “Various groups of BU girls sitting in the dining hall for Sunday brunches. No reality TV show can beat their dramatic stories about the night before.”
