Anh Phuong Vo, Editor-in-Chief
Anh is a second-year graduate student in Communication Studies at Boston University. She was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, but has lived in Boston for the past 7 years. Before attending BU, Anh received her Bachelor’s from Northeastern University in International Affairs. With this background, she is passionate about using the tools of communication to bring about social change in developing countries. When not at COM, Anh enjoys SoulCycling or exploring the Boston food scene with friends.
Tara Thomson, Managing Editor
Tara Thomson is an advertising graduate student from Florida who’s braving her first proper winter. She is a copywriter with a passion for storytelling–and she rarely leaves home without a book and a cup of coffee. This semester, you can find her on the staffs of both The COMmunicator and AdLab. (She’ll be the one with the pencil behind her ear.)
Elizabeth Traynor, Senior Editor
Elizabeth Traynor is a writer and communications specialist based in Boston. She is a lover of neutrals, hoarder of running sneakers and a collector of new workouts and new recipes. Elizabeth is currently a candidate for a master’s degree in communications studies at Boston University. Previously, she worked as a corporate communications manager.
Alex Villanueva, Senior Editor
Alex Villanueva is a second semester M.S. candidate from Plattsburgh, NY. He earned a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Illinois. Alex looks forward to a career in nonprofit PR, focusing on higher education or political communications.
Katy Steele, Senior Editor
Katy Steele graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Communications. After three years working with a law firm in the Chicago suburbs, she has returned to school to pursue a graduate degree in Public Relations.
Amelia Henning, Study Abroad Coordinator
Amelia is a junior in COM majoring in advertising. Her passions include traveling, visiting museums, and baking cupcakes. Her goal in life is to have visited all seven continents before she retires as a CEO.
Maddie Cordner, Social Media Coordinator
Maddie Cordner is graduate student in her second semester of the Advertising program at BU. She is from Australia, but previously lived in Seattle where she completed her undergrad degree. She loves travel, reading, sports, and cooking (and eating).
Eliza Garry, Marketing Specialist
Eliza is a second-semester Public Relations graduate student hoping to pursue a career in sports or corporate communications. She hails from Marblehead, MA and attended Connecticut College for her undergraduate degree in Human Development, Hispanic Studies, and Government. Just recently, Eliza and her friend just launched their very own YouTube series in which they talk all things sports.
Handan Luo, Webmaster
Handan is a second-year graduate advertising student. She is such a typical Gemini: she can travel constantly for two months without taking a rest, or she can stay at home for a week without stepping out the front door.
Anuska Sarkar, Faculty Liaison
Anuska Sarkar is a graduate student, pursuing a degree in Advertising. She did her undergraduate at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada with a major in Sociology. She was Born in India but has lived in Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the United States through her life. She has a passion for exploring the world and learning about different cultures. She hopes to one day use her global lens to discover strategic marketing solutions for brands.
