She was born and raised in Hangzhou, China (which is a very beautiful city that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on), and she has lived in New York and Boston for the past six years. She loves creative ideas, and she loves to work and chat with people who come from diverse cultures.

Tara Thomson, Managing Editor

Tara Thomson is an second-year graduate student from Florida who is currently pursuing her master’s in advertising. She is a copywriter with a passion for storytelling–and she rarely leaves home without a book. This semester, you can find her on the staffs of both The COMmunicator and AdLab. (She’ll be the one with the pencil behind her ear.)

Elizabeth TraynorElizabeth Traynor, Senior Editor

Elizabeth Traynor is a writer and communications specialist based in Boston, working at Converse, where she serves as lead for global internal communications. She is a lover of neutrals, hoarder of running sneakers and a collector of new workouts and new recipes. Elizabeth is currently a candidate for a master’s degree in communications studies at Boston University.

Jessica Burbridge, Senior Editor

Jess Burbridge is in her final semester as an advertising graduate student. She is passionate about baking, traveling, and rowing. Jess has been a high-school rowing coach for the past seven years and just became the Program Director in Milton, Massachusetts. The best part of her day is going home to her Bernese Mountain Dog, Journey.

Katy Steele graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Communications.  After three years working with a law firm in the Chicago suburbs, she has returned to school to pursue a graduate degree in Public Relations.

Taryn Rostovsky, Study Abroad Coordinator

Taryn Rostovsky is fourth-year senior student at Boston University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, and double minoring in communications and dance. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she came to Boston for a change and a chance to dabble in the snow. Eventually, Taryn hopes to fuse her appreciation for design and advertising to further a career in the field.

Maddie Cordner, Social Media Coordinator

Maddie Cordner is graduate student in her final semester of the Advertising program at BU. She is also the VP of Planning for AdLab and hopes to find a career in Strategy at an advertising agency. She is from Australia but isn’t new to the U.S., having previously lived in Seattle where she completed her undergraduate degree. She loves travel, reading (mostly about celebrity gossip), sports, and food.

Sarah Dasher, Faculty Liaison

Sarah Dasher strategically creates connections among people with words. She has written professionally across a variety of industries since 2004 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in public relations at Boston University’s College of Communication. Sarah holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Georgia and belly laughs at puns, no matters how terrible.

Nour Nabhan, Marketing Manager

Nour is currently a junior in the College of Communication studying advertising. She was born and raised in Tennessee, but her family came to the States from Lebanon, so she considers it her second home. She loves fashion and works as a stylist for Off The Cuff on campus. She enjoy sports, and her favorite to play is soccer.

Yawen Shuai, Webmaster

Yawen Shuai combines five years of academic training in communication with professional experiences in media marketing and TV production.
