It’s because they’re sending a message: “I’m ready for it to be warm again, thank you.”

Another fashion statement meant to display the same message – and one I myself am rather fond of – is brightly colored pants … and jackets … and shoes. Just bright things everywhere, really. It’s a little bit like this: “Listen up, Mother Nature, if you’re going to hide the sun behind those clouds, then I’ll show you. I’m wearing the sun on my pants. And blinding everyone who walks by me in the process.”
