Potential employers want to know that you’re smart.  Hey, we all know that you’re smart, but they don’t (not yet anyways).  Show that you are a problem-solver and critical thinker.  Can you have big ideas?  Can you be innovative?  Come prepared with an example of a problem you have solved creatively in your pocket.  Boom.

2)   Speak the language.

Do your homework.  In other words, know about your potential employer so that you don’t ask a really dumb question and end up sounding like an idiot.

3)   Have a goal.

Let’s be real, your goal is get the job.  Alright now, don’t be too overzealous, but get the point across that you would love to work there and be a valuable part of their team.

4)   Keep your talk quick.

5)   Find a place that you trust.
